on keeping my mouth shut
I used to think that I needed to share every opinion that I had with the people around me. But the years have gone by and I have learnt that sometimes people really don't want to hear it. There is a reason why there is a saying "shoot the messenger". No one wants to hear things they can't accept about themselves, unfortunately. And if you are the motherfucker who decides that your life is too peaceful and wants to bring it up? Too bad you are fucked.
This came to mind because a few weeks ago (almost a month), a piece of unverified information was shared with me. It was all cleared up at the end but I remember being so upset. And LASHED OUT I did. Was it justifiable? It was, to me, but we can always ask the other party.
I was proud of myself for going SCORCHED EARTH for about 10 minutes before thinking up a solution.
I know my own pattern now: get shit information > rage for about 1 hour max > think about ways to fix it.
I thought it was about increasing wisdom but then I suspect it is more like I am old and tired so there isn't much I want to waste energy on.
It goes the same with RAGEBAIT. In the past I used to write fucking long multi-post rebuttals but then I realised that it simply isn't worth my time. So what if the person is wrong? Some stranger on the internet. Why do I care if he thinks the earth is flat (example not actual rarebit).
Not my circus, not my monkeys.
