on audiobooks
I have been an on and off subscriber of Audible Premium, a subscription that allows me 1 "free" audiobook every month. I say "free" because technically the credit I get every month is actually costing me more than the actual purchase of the audiobook by itself.
Love reading in tandem, listening to the narrator while following the book's text. This is especially useful for books that are all a bit tangled (One Hundred Years of Solitude lol) and it makes it seems less painful to remember the very similar names and instead it feels like someone telling the story over a campfire.
Most of the time I tend to listen to audiobooks as bedtime stories. There are amazing narrators (usually authors themselves) who have such lovely voices it is almost impossible to stay awake.
I don't think I have actually managed to finish the audiobook versions of any Obama books or Matthew McConaughey's Greenlights.
Life Note:
There is a colleague at work who has been reacting from a place of insecurity and while I am tolerating it. It is frankly quite annoying. TBH I think she is just jealous.
