one must imagine me happy

migraines and some work rants

Down with the migraine since yesterday. Strange how I could feel it coming before it does. I suspect the CRM software I’ve been using is causing it (joking) but seriously the only common denominator is the bloody website.

My New Yorker subscription continued before I could continue so I’m going to be “cultured” for another month.

Recently I’ve cut down so many subscriptions. The only ones I see as essentials: Netflix, YouTube Premium, Spotify Premium, iCloud & ChatGPT.

I know people are against AI. I feel ambivalent about it. Have to use it at work. Use it to chat about mental health and books. Is it killing the planet? Maybe.

Do I care? Not as much as Threads think I should. The billionaires of the world destroy the world quicker than I do. Don’t take away the small conveniences of my life. I’m just a regular human being.

I suspect I’m binge reading because of anxiety and I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s just baseline anxiety but my doctor says I am in remission.

Had to get an exclusion clause from my insurance for mental health. They wouldn’t pay out for anything that is related to mental health. Fatigue or whatever. Fine. That’s fine.

While I do enjoy my workplace right now. There are dead weights that don’t seem to be doing their jobs and it pisses me off. I don’t care about people slacking until it affects my job.

I find myself saying: “yeah they are good people socially but terrible co-workers.”

On the bright side, I’ve learnt so much about the new ecosystem I am in right now. New platforms and cultural norms and ways to do business.

I wish I had taken up Korean and Japanese when I was a lot younger though. Would have been so useful if I did and got to business-level fluency.

A English/Chinese native with business-level Japanese/Korean would be so hireable for APAC market.

I’m not really enjoying Siri trying to rewrite my sentences. This is my blog not a fucking pitch deck.
